Teen Choice Awards 2012 Red Carpet

Fans of fun fashion say that they love the Teen Choice Awards. Gone are the stifling necklines and boring fine jewelry that frequently clutter up the Oscars, or the graceful long gowns of the Golden Globes; the TCA red carpet is generally packed with sequins, feathered jewelry and bold stilettos. In other words, we find irresistible it.Demi Lovato and “Glee” star Kevin McHale hosted the 2012 Teen Choice Awards previous night, doling out musical performances and surfboard trophies to “Twilight,” One Direction and more things we’ve appreciated we’re perhaps by now too old to understand.

Fashion-wise, the night was in fact a fun burst of color as stars shimmied into pink frocks and gleaming shoes. Selena Gomez and Justin Bieber walked the red carpet individually, with Gomez clad in a plain bright pink Dsquared² Resort 2013 dress and Bieber appeared  in camo and white. Hayden Panettiere went for full-on shine in a head-to-toe sequined dress, while “Call Me Maybe” singer Carly Rae Jepsen guided the tropics in a Lisa Ho ensemble dotted with palm trees. Taylor Swift, who have already won five awards, including “Choice Female Artist” and “Choice Country Artist,” remained to her tried-and-true white dress usual in a flowy Maria Lucia Hohan, and likewise, Zooey Deschanel kept it girly in a blue Monique Lhullier.

Lea Michele was also one of our standouts in a small Atelier Versace frock and low-key makeup. But the sartorial highlight or in other words lowlight of the night was Demi Lovato, whose Falguni & Shane Peacock dress was a bright jumble of feathers, bright colors, Gucci-esque geometry and defy we say it: sideboob.
