Celebrities Shaking The Female Tux
The inclination for female tuxes and masculine couture has been a big hit in the celebrity world. And, contrasting to many trends, it’s a style that can be gratifying for all figures – and suits both younger and more grown-up ladies alike. Without a doubt, amongst those who have been rocking the lady tux look this season comprise teen X Factor winners Little Mix, pop stars Katy Perry and Pixie Lott, radio broadcaster Fearne Cotton through to evergreen supermodel Twiggy, proving the sharp suit can be a competitor for the little black dress this party season for all ages. When Kelly Rowland dressed in a smart black tux and crispy white shirt one week during judging duties in The X Factor, Selfridges reported they’d sold out of the same Stella McCartney tuxedo jacket within hours as fans shouted to follow the style. The key to success for making the style in full swing, according to celebrity stylist Martine Alexander, is to keep it feminine. She says: “The key thing is to get an accurately fitting suit, and make sure you certainty in the waist, to go wrong on the feminine curves. You don’t wish for look like you are wearing your boyfriend’s clothes! You desire it to look smooth and smart, figure-hugging and customized.†“And if you are going to do it, try to do it with heels to keep it as a neutral style. A little bit of cleavage never does anyone a bit of spoil either.†But while most women look heavy in the appearance, wearing the tux jacket with leather trousers and knee high boots is perhaps an analysis of the trend best left to the matchless Nancy Dell’Olio!
